Knob broke off in my hand after using it just a few weeks! So disappointed because I'd used a Bella Espresso Maker similar to this model for many years previously. But this model is made of thin plastic connecting the knob to the internal on/off switch and the thin plastic is obviously not strong enough to withstand normal turning on/off.Fortunately it happened before the 30-day return policy and Amazon is accepting it back. Great Amazon - Bad Bella.Bella should go back to making the Espresso maker like the model from about 5 years ago. It was a gem - easy to use and worked for years. It was a great value. This newer model is not.Here's a photo I took right after it broke off in my hand!

If you have enough time to boil water, you don'tmind not longer having crema on your espresso and you also buy other basics (stainless pitch and coffee grinder) you'll have (very) good lattes and cappuccinos without investing on a respectable and reliable brand.

DON'T BOTHER. This is a cheap piece of junk. The toy-like control knob broke off 3 weeks after I got the machine, making it unusable. I had two inexpensive Salton espresso makers that each lasted years, so when I saw a $20 Black Friday deal, I picked up the Bella. I immediately noticed that the control knob became difficult to turn as soon as the machine heated up (possibly from internal expansion of the flimsy plastic parts). In a short 3 weeks, the control knob completely broke off, and I returned the machine. --- I think I'll bite the bullet and move up to a higher quality machine when I see one on sale. Worth it since I use it everyday. Meanwhile, getting by with my trusty old Salton.
